Prince Harry has arrived back in the UK for the Coronation of his father King Charles.

The Duke of Sussex, 38, jetted into the UK on a commercial Amercian Airlines flight from Los Angeles and landed at Heathrow Airport on Friday morning at 11.23am, according to MailOnline.

The Prince is due to attend the ceremony but will be absent from the balcony appearance, and is expected to begin his journey back to California ahead of Sunday night's Coronation Concert.

His trip to the UK is without his wife Meghan Markle, who has remained at their home in the US, where she will be celebrating their son Prince Archie's fourth birthday, which is the same day as his grandfather's coronation.

It comes after weeks of questions surrounding the Sussexes attendance at the historic event, which came to an end when Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming Harry's attendance.

It read: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."

Harry's arrival in the UK comes after historian and royal expert Tessa Dunlop told OK!: "I think Harry will arrive the night before for the Coronation.

"I think security will be closely and tightly choreographed," she added.

Talking about security on the day for Harry, she said: "The amount of money that is being spent on security in and out of that abbey which is going to be the main bit, you've got some of the most significant politicians in the world coming, so I don't think Harry needs to worry too much.

"I think his main security concerns come around his family and his children, I think he's almost less worried".

While Tessa said we won't know where Harry will be sat during the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey she said: "I think he'll be sat with royals such as Eugenie and Zara. The truth is there will be some pity for Harry, but he's a family player."

Tessa added that there could be some empathy towards Harry from other members of the family during his time in the UK.

"He's on a mission that looks like it's being to attack the monarchy, but I don't think it's as personal as it seems to us," Tessa explained.

"He's a person within the institution and the fight against the press embroiled the monarchy, but the players within the monarchy, some of them are his family members that he's fond of.

"But also don't forget that there's Eugenie who isn't a working royal, and others who are not a part of the sovereign grant, they probably also have their own gripes, we don't know. So there's probably a degree of empathy in some respects (from other members of the royal family to Harry)."
