After another disappointing playoff exit without superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson on the field due to injury, the Ravens headed into the NFL offseason with many questions about the immediate future in Baltimore.
Jackson requested a trade early in the NFL offseason, and it seemed like the team had to either meet his asking price or send him elsewhere, which seemed to be the more likely scenario.
Fortunately, the Ravens were finally able to see eye-to-eye on a new deal, and everything has been heading in the right direction ever since.
With a lot of hype and excitement moving forward in Baltimore, one player on the team has decided to change his jersey number, with linebacker Roquan Smith going with No. 0 moving forward, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.
After avoiding disaster and potentially having to start from scratch in 2023, the Ravens will be one of the teams to watch next season in the AFC, with title-contending aspirations not being out of the realm of possibility.
Along with finally inking Jackson to a contract extension, the Ravens were able to sign superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and bring in one of the most talented wide receivers in the 2023 NFL Draft in the form of Zay Flowers.
The Ravens could have one of the best offenses in the NFL next season while having a formidable defense with Smith and company leading the way.
