Former Los Angeles Angels pitcher and All-Star Matt Harvey retired from baseball early Friday. The former 2010 first-round draft pick made his decision via Instagram Post.

The 34-year-old had a simple message for his retirement statement.

The 34-year-old was known for his time as a New York Met but was with the Angels organization in 2019. In his lone season as a Halo, he went 3-5 with a 7.09 ERA, 39 strikeouts, and a 1.54WHIP in 12 games and 59.2 innings pitched.

The 2013 All-Star was known as "The Dark Knight" in his time as a Met and led the Mets to the 2015 World Series. He was one of the better pitchers in the mid-2010s but was derailed by injuries after his dominant 2013 season.

His time as an Angel was controversial as he testified that he provided the late Tyler Skaggs drugs while they were teammates. Skaggs died of an overdose in 2019. It wasn't a pretty ending for Harvey in LA, but he ended up pitching two more seasons and last pitched with the Kansas City Royals.

We wish Harvey the best in retirement. Enjoy it!
