BR Home includes a series of chic throw blankets and sheets.

Banana Republic, a fast-fashion retailer known for its chic-yet-affordable business-casual staples, is getting into the home category. The new venture, dubbed BR Home, debuts with a series of cozy rugs, blankets, bedding, and more-all now available to shop via the brand's website.

An integral part of BR Home's DNA seems to be craftsmanship with a global focus. Handwoven rugs are made in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, linens hail from Italian mills, and pillows are made using Malian crafting methods.

The overall look and feel of the collection is both bohemian and contemporary, mixing colorful fringe pillows with more jewel-toned linen ones, as well as both silk and cashmere bedding sets available in a wide range of earthy hues. Price points include affordable and splurge-worthy objects, ranging from cotton pillowcases for $40 to oversize rugs for $7,550.

BR Home's announcement comes on the heels of ART, a collection of photography and artworks available exclusively through Banana Republic. The new homewares come at a time when fast-fashion brands seem to be doubling down on interior design offerings more than ever, as Zara unveiled its new furniture collection with Vincent Van Duysen just last summer.

It's a venture, that, for Banana Republic, feels like a natural fit for its audience. "Discovery and self-expression are an integral part of our customers' lives at home, work, and away," said Aaron Rose, head of commerce and experience, in a statement. "We know our customers care deeply about great style, design, and quality in all aspects of their lives." In other words, expect more than slacks and blazers on offer next time you pop in.
