Hailey Van Lith is one of the biggest names in college basketball. With that comes NIL deals like the one she has with Adidas. It was announced on Wednesday that Van Lith's deal with Adidas would continue, despite her decision to transfer to LSU.
There's only one problem: LSU is a Nike school, so she may not be able to wear the brand she endorses on the court anymore.
Van Lith will likely have many opportunities to appear in marketing for Adidas off the court, but the nature of the deal raises a few questions since she may not be able represent them where she's most visible.
The sports world is reacting to Van Lith's continued Adidas deal.
"Love that," one fan said. "Institution's endorsement deals should play no role."
"This is a new era," another fan said. "NIL is different because this NEVER would have happened even 3 or 4 years ago. She'd be wearing Nike on the Nike team. Not even a thought about it."
"Smart of Adidas to lock in with the young current women's players that are building a loyal college fan base they likely hope to carry into the pros," another fan said.
It's currently unclear whether Van Lith will be able to wear Adidas on-court at LSU, but if she is, it marks a massive change in college sports.
