Three-time Olympic medalist and two-time world champion sprinter Tori Bowie died at the age of 32, according to a statement from sports agency ICON Management.

Bowie starred at the University of Southern Mississippi, capturing both the indoor and outdoor national championships for the long jump in 2011. One of her most memorable runs took place in the 100-meter dash at the 2017 World Championships in London. Bowie came from behind to edge past Marie-Josée Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast, winning her only individual world championship by one-hundredth of a second. Bowie also won gold for the 4x100 relay.
