The Minnesota Vikings paid a pretty penny in order to ink one of the most talented prospects to go undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Minnesota Vikings has a fantastic draft weekend that carried over all the way into Sunday night. Not only did the Vikes assemble a talented 2023 draft class, but they hit a home run in the undrafted free agent arena as well.

Minnesota's most notable signing after the draft was unquestionably Army LB Andre Carter II. Early in the draft process many scouts and experts believed Carter had the makings of an early second-round pick. To the Vikings' benefit, carter slipped all the way through seven rounds and fell right into their lap.

With that being said, the Vikings weren't his only suitors. As a result, Minnesota forked over an extremely lucrative deal in order to land the six-foot-six pass rusher. Carter signed a contract with the Vikes which included $340,000 in guarantees, per Aaron Wilson.

This eyebrow-raising contract indicated the Vikings believe Carter has a strong opportunity to make the team's 53-man roster. And in a thin group at outside linebacker, there's no reason why he can't.

What makes Carter's deal so impressive is the fact that players drafted in the back end of the seventh round are only slotted $80,000 in guarantees. While Carter certainly cashed in, it's the Vikings who really hit the jackpot.
