It's probably been at least a decade since ESPN host and long-suffering Jets fan Mike Greenberg had a reason to be excited for an upcoming season. But on Aaron Rodgers' fifth day as a Jet he could hardly contain himself.

On Monday, the Jets released a short video of Aaron Rodgers doing some light practice with his new team. Greenberg was so delighted that he took to Twitter with this to say:

"This is the most beautiful sight these eyes have ever seen," he wrote.

For Jets fans who have not even sniffed the playoffs in the last 10 years and have not been to the Super Bowl in over 50 years, that's either really beautiful or really sad.

From a pure talent standpoint Aaron Rodgers represents arguably the best quarterback they've had in their entire history. He's surpassed his former mentor Brett Favre and his regular season accomplishments dwarf even Jets legend Joe Namath.

But at 39 years old and turning 40 in the middle of the 2023 season, the window for Rodgers to accomplish anything in New York is small - and the signs of decline are already there.

The Jets gave up a lot to bring Rodgers into the fold. If they don't reach the Super Bowl, it'll be a disappointment for everyone. If they don't even make the playoffs, a lot of people are going to lose their jobs.
