Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in English history, passed away last week at age 96. Since her passing, the royal family has shown unity in their grief. California-based Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who were already visiting the U.K. for charity events last week, reunited with Prince William and Princess Kate to admire flowers left for the Queen outside of Windsor Castle. It was the first time the couples appeared in public together since March 2020.
In a statement about his grandmother, Prince William reflected on her influence on Kate Middleton. "My wife has had 20 years of her guidance and support," he said. "My three kids have got to spend holidays with her and create memories that will last their whole lives," he wrote. "She was by my side at my happiest moments, and she was by my side during the saddest days of my life."
