Former President Donald Trump was spotted at his Virginia golf course Monday after a video of him on a flight to the DC area had sparked speculation that he was facing possible charges by federal authorities or would be forced to testify before a grand jury.

Trump landed at Dulles International Airport Sunday evening. By Monday morning, rumors spread that the former president had been indicted by the Department of Justice for allegedly mishandling documents following the FBI raid at Trump's Mar-A-Lago estate.

Social media obsessed over Trump's white golf shoes apparently worn on the flight, speculating the flight was sudden and unplanned.

But Trump shut down those rumors on Truth Social Monday morning, saying he was "working" at Trump National Golf Club Washington D.C. in Sterling, Virginia for the day.

"What an incredible place!" the former president added while linking to the club's website.

An Associated Press photographer also snapped a photo of Trump riding in a golf cart at the club in a polo shirt and a Make America Great Again hat.

NBC News justice reporter Ryan J. Reilly tweeted Monday morning that "there are no signs at the D.C. federal courthouse that, say, a former president is about to make an initial appearance or testify before a grand jury."

There is no evidence that Trump faces imminent legal trouble or is due in court.
