Army Inspector General, Lieutenant General Manuel Busquier, has argued that Ukraine is experiencing an "information war" in which communication is fundamental and plays a key role on each side.

In an event at the Equestrian Circle on Monday, he assured that the war unleashed by the Russian invasion has become a "hammer conflict" despite the fact that initially it seemed to be a blitzkrieg, according to a statement from the entity.

As a result of technological advances - he said - military weaponry has become much more flexible and effective, "reinforcing the Ukrainian forces and reducing their human intervention", so that the Russian army has been forced to act to show its strength.

"The conflict in Russia and Ukraine has shown the protagonism that Europe wants", said Busquier, who defended that the Spanish army must detect the threats and evaluate the risks in this context in the face of technological advances in warfare.

Thus, he advocated for "robust, flexible and highly available structures that can act quickly and avoid a crisis", with deployable units, headquarters with the capacity and means to deter threats, and said that society should be aware of the importance of defense.
