Luton Town manager Nathan Jones has commented on Arbim Pepple's loan spell so far with Grimsby Town, labelling the Mariners "a good club" for the 19-year-old's development at this stage of his career.

The English-born Canadian striker has made six appearances for Town so far since joining on loan this summer, a move which transpired rather quickly after his move to the Hatters was confirmed from Canadian Premier League side Calvary FC.

People has shown glimpses of what he is capable of but also why he has been loaned out by the Championship club, with Paul Hurst highlighting clear areas for the young forward to improve upon when talking about his performances so far this season.

For Luton boss Jones, game time was the most important in his eyes for Pepple and said they were more than happy to give Grimsby the player based on their knowledge of the level of coaching at Blundell Park.

"We want him to play," Jones told Luton Today. "We send them out to clubs that want them for the right reasons, and Grimsby did that, so we'll be interested to see how he does. Pepple is 19, so he's got a long time.

"He has played first-team games, so bringing him back just to train and give him development football isn't conducive. We found a good club for him in Grimsby; we know how they work and how they coach."

People has also previously spoken about adapting to the rigours of English football as a young player from abroad and expressed his determination to improve as a player by highlighting the work he has done with the Town coaches.

"It is a good quality of football in Canada," Pepple said last month. "I think the biggest thing for me here is the physicality. A lot more is allowed to go, especially with the defenders, the ref doesn't maybe use his whistle as much, so I've just got to adapt.

"I'm talking to the coaching staff every day, just learning to use my body a bit better, learning to become more of a hold-up play as well. As long as I keep listening to them and keep learning, it will come."
