The National Police Chiefs' Council has confirmed that they are working closely with other organisations to ensure events are held "safely and with the appropriate security" as the next round of fixtures remain in doubt ahead of the Queen's funeral on Monday, September 19.
Derby County are due to host Wycombe Wanderers in League One this coming Saturday after the game at Morecambe was postponed following the EFL's decision to postpone all action after the Queen's passing.
With the Queen's state funeral set to take place on the Monday following next weekend's round of EFL fixtures, the NPCC said in a statement that a national policing operation had been activated and that UK Policing was working with organisations to ensure sport goes ahead in the coming days.

Derby County are "pressing ahead" with talks to make Liam Rosenior the club's permanent manager.
Rosenior has been in charge on an interim basis since Wayne Rooney left the club back in June of this year. His time in charge has seen him oversee a summer overhaul of players, while his Rams sit ninth in League One after seven games.
New owner David Clowes had seemingly put Rosenior's contract talks on the back-burner for a short while, but is now moving forward with talks after the summer transfer window closed at the beginning of the month.

Then Rams boss Frank Lampard had built an exciting team but faced formidable opposition in Aston Villa who were managed by Dean Smith. It was Jack Grealish against Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham against Fikayo Tomori in a final that certainly captured the imagination given the young talent on show.
But in the end it was Smith's side who came out on top as they secured a 2-1 victory in front of a crowd of more than 85,000. It proved Lampard's final game in charge of the Rams as he was granted talks with Chelsea who appointed him as their manager.
