Journalist Dean Jones has praised Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak's determination to succeed after it emerged he has had conversations with club legend Alan Shearer.
Jones was speaking to GiveMeSport about the latest news from St James' Park.
Isak arrived in the north-east in the final days of August after Newcastle agreed a fee of around £60m with La Liga side Real Sociedad for the services of the striker.
The Sweden international immediately hit the ground running, putting the Magpies 1-0 up against Liverpool at Anfield in what eventually turned out to be a 2-1 defeat.
And Jones believes that Isak's conversations with Shearer are all part of his desire to live up to the expectations that naturally surround that of a club-record signing.
He said: "Newcastle have been crying out for a player like this and the fact that he admits he's already speaking to Alan Shearer tells you this is a player determined to make a success of this move."

We believe the fact that Isak has gone to the effort of speaking to the all-time Premier League record goalscorer shows that the young forward has the ambition to try and reach the heights at Eddie Howe's side.
The 22-year-old, who has previously been dubbed as an "extraordinary talent" by Gary Lineker, has already scored 78 goals in just 204 senior appearances throughout his career according to Transfermarkt, suggesting that the 37-cap Sweden international is more than confident in finding the back of the net and should adjust to the Premier League in no time.
Therefore, we think that with Isak's natural ability as well as his determination and willingness to learn, the young striker will prove to be a success on Tyneside.
