During Rashida Jones' career, she has accomplished far more than most actors can even dream of. Forever associated with one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, Jones became a memorable part of The Office even though she never felt comfortable on the show's set.

After her time on The Office came to an end, Jones then went to star in the much-beloved sitcom Parks and Recreation.

Still very successful to this day, Rashida Jones has remained very busy since she left Parks and Recreation. Putting Jone's career aside, the most important thing she has done is become a mother. Unfortunately, however, Jones has revealed that at the moment she gave birth to her son, she felt like she wasn't in her body for an especially tragic reason.

From the moment that Rashida Jones was born, she has always lived in a world that most people will never truly be able to understand. The daughter of legendary figures, Jones got to be around the rich and famous from a young age. With that in mind, it truly seems amazing that Jones comes across as so well-adjusted whenever she is interviewed.

From the moment that Rashida Jones rose to fame, there has been a lot of discussion about the fact that her father is one of the most influential people in modern music, Quincy Jones.

An absolute legend, Quincy Jones has worked with some of the most successful musicians in recent years. For example, Jones will always be associated with people like Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, and Celine Dion among others.

Also accomplished in other areas of the entertainment business, Quincy Jones executive produced several notable TV shows over the years.

Most notably, Quincy Jones played a pivotal role in the success of shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, MADtv, and Bel-Air. In short, Jones will go down in history as an absolute legend.

While it makes perfect sense that a lot of attention has been paid to the fact that Rashida Jones has a very famous father, her mother was an extremely successful actor at the height of her career.

Best known for playing Julie Barnes in the hit TV crime drama The Mod Squad, Peggy Lipton became a huge star due to the massive popularity of that show. After marrying Quincy Jones, giving birth to Rashida Jones, and going on a 15-year acting hiatus, Lipton went on to be a memorable part of Twin Peaks.

Even though Rashida Jones has been very famous for a long time now, there are certain aspects of being a celebrity that she clearly seems to avoid. Unlike a lot of stars who seem to be compelled to share everything they go through on social media, Jones prefers to keep the vast majority of her personal life behind closed doors.

Amazingly enough, Rashida Jones managed to keep one of the biggest events in her life under wraps. After all, when Jones gave birth to her son in 2018, it wasn't until months later that the media learned that she was a mother.

Despite keeping the news of her son's birth private at the time, in 2021 Jones was interviewed by NPR and she discussed what she was going through when she was in labor.

In 2019, Rashida Jones' beloved mother Peggy Lipton passed away at 72 years old. Diagnosed with colon cancer in 2004, Lipton battled the disease valiantly for fifteen years before she ultimately passed away as a result of it.

Sadly, Peggy Lipton never got to meet her grandson as she passed away shortly before Jones gave birth. As Jones explained to NPR, losing her mother just before giving birth took a big toll on her.

"This has been a very emotionally intense couple of years. ... It was sort of like back-to-back-to-back-to-back, just wrenching, pulling my heart in all different directions. ... I was in grief-shock. I don't even know if that's a word, but I was just not in my body at all and just had a baby. I was doubly not in my body. ..."

"The thing that's the craziest about birth and death is just the utter rawness of feeling. I still feel this way, I think. It's like something cracks in you. It's very binary, both things - becoming a mother and losing my mother - like, there's my life before and there's my life after."

"And strangely, there's something that's not recognizable before those two things happened. And it's just this utter rawness of emotion where it doesn't matter where I am, what I'm doing. If I'm overwhelmed by that grief or that joy, that's it. I have to feel that thing. I can't suppress it. I can't run away from it. It's just there."
