The former Dutch of Sussex Prince Harry reunited with his brother Prince of Wales William Saturday, along with their prospective wives Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton for the first time since March 2020.

Both couples arrived at Windsor Castle in the same car, and greeted those outside the castle while they viewed the various tributes left to memorialize Queen Elizabeth II in light of her recent death. The reunion was so unexpected that security did not expect all four together, according to a report.

"It's such an extraordinary historical moment and also a deeply personal one for the family that you'd hope and think that all members of the family would unite and support [the King] especially," a royal insider reported. "And perhaps some of those wounds can be healed in the process."

"We are all very grateful - both sides putting all things aside for the Queen," another royal source said.

While Harry and Meghan, who now live in California since 2020, were present for the queen's Platinum Jubilee, there were no public interactions between the couple and the rest of Harry's immediate family members. The couple did, however, reportedly introduce now King Charles III to his granddaughter Lilibet, 1, for the first time in private. The last time all four made a public appearance together was on Commonwealth Day two years ago.

Harry and Meghan renounced their royal titles in 2020. The couple plans to remain in the U.K. through the queen's funeral on Sept. 19.

Elizabeth's coffin is currently at the queen's summer residence, Balmoral Castle, in Scotland, will then be transported to her official residence in Edinburgh, and then St. Giles' Cathedral. From there, the coffin will be flown to London's Buckinham Palace, where there will be a procession from there to Westminster Palace, parliament's house of government. Her Majesty will lie in state for four days beginning on Sept. 12 there before her funeral will proceed at Westminster Abbey.
