PITTSBURGH, PA - SEPTEMBER 10: Gavin Bartholomew #86 of the Pittsburgh Panthers attempts to jump over Jaylen McCollough #2 of the Tennessee Volunteers after making a catch in the first quarter during the game at Acrisure Stadium on September 10, 2022 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh tight end Gavin Bartholomew made a play straight out of a video game on Saturday against Tennessee.

WIth his team up 10-7 early in the second quarter, Kedon Slovis hit Bartholomew on a wheel route. Bartholomew was wide open, but Tennessee's Trevon Flowers was closing quickly.

That was no issue for the 6-foot-5, 255-pound Bartholomew, who deftly hurdled Flowers and took off into open space. The end result was a 57-yard touchdown that extended Pitt's lead to 17-7.

How smooth was that? It was like he hit the "Y" button on an Xbox controller.

Bartholomew had just one catch for nine yards in Pitt's season-opening win over West Virginia, but that catch-and-run touchdown put him at four catches for 83 yards in the first half of Saturday's game alone.

Tennessee responded with a 71-yard touchdown drive on the next possession, so it remains to be seen if the Panthers will be able to hang on for a big home win.
