King Charles' first address having ascended to the British throne follower his mother's death spoke volumes.
Charles, 73, spoke lovingly about Queen Elizbeth, the legacy she created, his devotion to the future of the monarchy and his children, Prince William and Prince Harry.
For Prince William, the king bestowed the Princes of Wales title and Kate Middleton the Princess of Wales title. This is reflective of the couple's significant role as senior working royals for the British monarchy.
For Harry, Charles expressed his "love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas". And with those words, Harry and Meghan's place in the monarchy has been made clear.

Harry and Meghan, while remaining beloved members of the family, are no longer part of the monarchy and won't be in the future.
Charles' choice of words spoke volumes, expressing his love for his son and his son's wife and acknowledging their "lives overseas."

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. King Charles has long wanted a slimed down monarchy, although this hasn't been achieved by his own doing. Harry and Meghan chose to leave, and Prince Andrew withdrew from royal life in disgrace.
?Added to this, King Charles did not bestow upon his youngest son the title of Duke of York or any other title of significance. If he was ever going to do this, then would have been the time.
While with the Queen's death come royal titles for Archie and Lilibet being Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, although Charles has the power to take those away if needed.
As it stands, Harry is still a prince and the Duke of Sussex and Meghan remains the Duchess of Sussex. The couple's commercial projects reflect these titles and will continue to do so.?
With the status quo confirmed - Harry and Meghan forging a path in the US and King Charles and the slimmed down monarchy in the UK, the future is set.
Charles' public expression of love for Harry and Meghan demonstrates that there are no hard feelings on his part, and may have also also have been a call for peace between the family members.
The loss of his beloved grandmother is sure to have been a sobering experience for Prince Harry. His estrangement from his family was focused on his relationships with his father and brother.
Queen Elizabeth remained dear to him and he has mentioned the frequency of their phone calls and named his daughter Lilibet after her.?
Now that she is gone and Charles has given Harry and Meghan a public blessing, he may reconsider his future plans which include a tell-all book.

With the Royal Family observing a 10-day period of mourning following Her Majesty's death, Harry and Meghan are well placed to pay their respects and a positive sign is Meghan's cancellation of a planned interview with American talk show host Jimmy Fallon and the delaying of the next episode of her Spotify podcast, Archewell.?
The couple hasn't held back when it comes to their criticism of life as part of the monarchy and their decision to leave. Perhaps everything has been said. It is hard to imagine there is more to reveal about their experience.
King Charles noted during his speech his mother's "unswerving devotion" and "solemnly" pledged himself to do the same "throughout the remaining time God grants me."
Her Majesty will be laid to in the coming days and Harry and Meghan's place will be as beloved family members attending Harry's grandmother's funeral.?
?Let's hope that this time is one of healing for Prince Harry and his family. This would be the ultimate way for the family to honour the Queen.
