Three of Queen Elizabeth's granddaughters-Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Zara Tindall-have arrived at Balmoral Castle in Scotland today to pay respects to their late grandmother.
Princess Eugenie is believed to have arrived from Portugal, where she now lives with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son, August Brooksbank. Zara and Princess Eugenie both flew to Scotland from somewhere in the UK. It's unclear if their husbands and children joined them at Balmoral.
"I think Granny is the most happy there," Princess Eugenie once said of Balmoral. I think she really, really loves the Highlands."
Members of the royal family rushed to the Scottish castle yesterday upon news of the Queen's declining health, and Prince Charles-now King Charles III-and Princess Anne were reportedly by her side when she passed away. Her other children-Prince Edward and Prince Andrew-arrived shortly afterwards, along with Prince William and later Prince Harry.
Princess Beatrice's husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shared a sweet tribute to the Queen on his Instagram today, writing, "incredibly hard to process the last 24 hours. What an incredible woman and extraordinary mark she's left on the entire world. She was the rock on which modern Britain was built."
He added, "Feeling very lucky that our little ones got to spend wonderful time with her this summer," which seemingly references Edo and Beatrice's daughter Sienna Elizabeth and Wolfie, Edo's son from a previous relationship. The royal family often joined Queen Elizabeth throughout her summer at Balmoral, so it's likely Edo, Beatrice, and their family made the trip north earlier this summer.
