Lightsabers have a way of hanging around and, in some ways, come to reflect the personality of their owner. Anakin Skywalker's weapon was perhaps the most famous in Star Wars and passed through three generations of owners during the nine core films of the saga. Other sabers have similar histories and similar unspoken connections to their owners, from Mace Windu's unique purple-bladed weapon to Luke Skywalker's green lightsaber, which was far more his own than the one he inherited from Anakin.
The final disposition of these weapons can be something of a mystery, and few of them have any kind of a canonical ending. That means that they, like Anakin's, can pop up again if it makes for good storytelling. And with a singular attachment to their previous owners, they provide strong hooks to previous movies and events as well. The success of the Obi-Wan Kenobi streaming series on Disney+ rekindled interest in Obi-Wan's lightsaber, which he wielded upon his death in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. So, what happened to Obi-Wan's lightsaber after he died?

Unlike Anakin, whose weapon passed through multiple owners, Kenobi had more than one lightsaber during his tenure as a Jedi. He lost his first one during the duel with Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace as the Sith Lord kicked it down a reactor shaft. The replacement was lost just one movie later when he was captured by Count Dooku in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. He received or constructed his third and final one sometime during the Clone Wars -- before Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith -- and used it for the remainder of his life.
That included key roles in a number of important Galactic events. He initially lost it again in his fight with General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith, only to have Commander Cody return it to him shortly before Order 66. He used it in the fateful duel with Anakin on Mustafar, then kept it throughout his vigil on Tatooine. That included finally killing Maul with it in Star Wars Rebels Season 3, Episode 20, "Twin Suns," as well as the entirety of the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series on Disney+. That included his climactic second duel with Vader in Season 1, Episode 6, "Part VI." According to the canonical Ultimate Star Wars reference book, Luke Skywalker used its design to build his own green lightsaber shortly before Star Wars: Episode VI -- Return of the Jedi, extending its legacy beyond the weapon itself.

Obi-Wan's lightsaber falls out of canon with his death in A New Hope. The last time it appeared on-screen was atop the puddle of his robes as Vader gingerly tapped his boot nearby. Presumably, it was destroyed when Luke blew up the Death Star, but not necessarily. Vader might have readily taken it with him, either as a gift to his Emperor or a trophy to keep in his own right. From there, it could easily travel to anywhere in the galaxy, both before and after Vader's death in Return of the Jedi.
And as audiences saw with Anakin's lightsaber, there's a good deal of dramatic potential in the idea. Rey's complicated connection to the weapon helps bind her deeper to the story of the Skywalker family, particularly Kylo Ren, who views it as his birthright. A similar fate could lie in store for Obi-Wan's weapon, especially considering the Sith it has vanquished.
That said, it's far from the only possibility. With upcoming projects centered around the likes of Ahsoka Tano -- to say nothing of The Mandalorian, whose storyline remains closely linked to the Jedi -- there will be no shortage of chances to insert it into the proceedings. How or why is completely up in the air, but it would come with enough dramatic hooks to make it very interesting regardless.
