Plymouth Argyle have announced their League One game against Oxford United at Home Park on Tuesday, September 13 will take place as planned.

The club will make "appropriate alterations to the entertainment schedule and matchday experience" to ensure due respect is paid to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at the age of 96 yesterday afternoon.

Argyle's away game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park next Saturday is also set go ahead at this stage. However, Argyle have stated the decision for fulfilling the fixture 'lies with the Fratton Park club and their local stakeholders from an operations, resourcing, and staffing perspective'.

All football across England from the Premier League and the EFL through to the grassroots level has been postponed tomorrow as a mark of respect to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Argyle will not, now, be playing Sheffield Wednesday at Home Park, and the club have this afternoon issued an update on that.

A statement said: "All tickets purchased for the Sheffield Wednesday fixture will remain valid for the rescheduled date, which is to be arranged in due course.

"No action will be required for supporters if they wish to retain their ticket for the rescheduled match. However, other options are also available.

"Supporters can ask for credit equivalent to the cost of tickets to be added to their Argyle ticketing accounts, while refunds are also available.

"In addition, tickets can be exchanged for the Tuesday's fixture against Oxford United, with a refund or credit given to supporters due to the difference in ticket prices.

"The options above can be exercised by contacting the Home Park Ticket Office on 01752 907700, by emailing tickets@pafc.co.uk or by visiting the Ticket Office in person.

"Please note that the Ticket Office will remain open as usual on Friday, before closing over the weekend to align with the football community's respectful postponement. The Argyle Superstore will also close over the weekend, but remains open as usual on Friday.

"Our hospitality team have begun the process of contacting all supporters booked for hospitality packages this weekend, and a range of options will be available to guests.

"If guests have not received contact from the hospitality team before Monday, please contact hospitalty@pafc.co.uk or call 01752 302206."

The Argyle statement added: "Tuesday night's Sky Bet League One fixture against Oxford United will go ahead as planned, with appropriate alterations to the entertainment schedule and matchday experience made to ensure due respect is paid to our nation's longest-serving monarch. Tickets remain on sale through the Home Park Ticket Office and through argyletickets.com.

"Next Saturday's trip to Portsmouth is also scheduled to go ahead at this stage, though the decision for fulfilling the fixture lies with the Fratton Park club and their local stakeholders from an operations, resourcing, and staffing perspective."

The statement concluded: "Consistent with the sombre mood of our nation at this time, all club channels, including social media and the pafc.co.uk website and app, will undertake a media blackout until 12pm on Monday."
