One particularly dedicated Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan is making quite a splash online by traveling to the real-world locations of every piece of in-game art. While known for its distinctly lighthearted art style, the immensely popular Switch exclusive features actual real-world paintings and sculptures from the world's premiere museums, which the Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan is making his mission to see.
The only game in the long-running series to not start with one, Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Art Gallery is the fourth and final wing of the Museum, featuring a single large room dedicated to different regions and periods of art. The New Horizons Museum Art Gallery can only be accessed after giving Blathers a piece of art, which is sold by the shifty character Redd.

The globe-trotting Animal Crossing: New Horizons player in question is @MayPlaysTV, a UK-based streamer who begun their quest around five months ago. In those five months, the streamer has checked a sizable number of boxes off their list, with 15 of the 43 total artworks visited. The streamer has been documenting his journeys on social media, first showing an in-game clip of his character standing next to the artwork as his character, and then showing the actual real-world version, holding up a custom-made Amiibo card as proof.
Some of the highlights of the latest video include "Beautiful statue," which is the Venus de Milo, the "Mystic statue" a.k.a. the bust of Nefertiti (an ancient Egyptian queen) and the "Flowery Painting," which is Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh. According to May's socials, the streamer is planning to visit the city of Vienna next, where a number of other real-world versions of Animal Crossing: New Horizons' art can be found. With thankfully no sketchy Jolly Redd's Treasure Trawler to be found in real life, fans can be assured that the various paintings and sculptures shown are the real deal.
The editing of the video does a good job at quickly comparing the in-game art to their real-world counterparts, making the Blathers-curated Museum all the more impressive. The same can't be said for what happened to a few other Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, who got quite the jumpscare in Blathers' Museum after a bug caused a fellow player to suddenly appear onscreen.
While it may be a long while until @MayPlaysTV completes his art-filled journey, the streamer has earned the support and admiration of many Animal Crossing: New Horizons players online, with his TikTok videos getting anywhere from several thousand to over a million views. While most people likely won't have the money or the time (or the dedication) to complete such an undertaking, Animal Crossing: New Horizons always has something new for players to discover, and is much, much less expensive.
