It's been nearly two decades since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got together. At the time, their relationship was considered scandalous, since it appeared the actors had begun an affair after meeting while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith, even though Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time.
However, new information about how the couple's affair became public has come to light. And it appears Angelina was the one who wanted the public to know she was with Brad.

According to Page Six, Jann Wenner's upcoming memoir Like A Rolling Stone alleges that Angelina leaked the first photos of her and Brad to the paparazzi in 2005. Wenner is the founder of Rolling Stone magazine and goes into detail about a variety of celebrity encounters in his book, which is set to release on September 13th.
In the early 2000s, the magazine magnate owned Us Weekly, and one of the publication's photographers received a tip that Angelina and Brad were vacationing on the coast of Africa together. The paparazzo managed to snap photos of the pair as they played on the beach with Angelina's son, Pax, whom Brad would later go on to adopt.
"We got the photo, we got the proof. We had the worldwide scoop, the debut of Brangelina," Wenner writes. "The tipster was Angelina."
At the time, rumors were swirling that Brad and Angelina were an item despite his marriage status, though it had remained unconfirmed until the images were published.

Brad and Jennifer divorce the same year the photos were published following five years of marriage. Brad and Angelina continued their relationship and welcomed their first biological child together in 2006. In total, they adopted three kids and had two more biological children.
The pair eventually wed in 2014, but the marriage was short-lived after Angelina filed for divorce in 2019 amid reports of a conflict between her, Brad, and their children on a private jet. Brad was investigated by the FBI over the incident, though he was later cleared. Angelina is now suing the federal agency and is asking for confidential paperwork related to their investigation.
Despite divorcing three years ago, Brad and Angelina are still involved in various legal disputes. The parents-of-six are fighting for custody over their children. They're also still battling it out over their French winery. Brad unsuccessfully attempted to stop Angelina from selling her stakes to a Russian businessman, which he says was an attempt to harm his reputation. Moreover, Brad is currently being sued for $250 million by Angelina's former company over the winery. The case is ongoing.
