Senior members of the royal family traveled to Scotland today to visit Queen Elizabeth II as she remains under medical supervision; Kate Middleton, however, was not among them.
A royal source confirmed to BAZAAR.com contributing royal correspondent Omid Scobie that the Duchess of Cambridge stayed back in Windsor with her and Prince William's three children while he, Prince Harry, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew headed to Balmoral Castle, where she is currently staying.
Just yesterday, the Cambridge kids-Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis-arrived at their new school (which they are attending following their move from Kensington Palace in London to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor) for their first tour and official meeting with the headmaster. And today marked their first official day of classes. So, when the royals got the call this morning to travel to the queen, Kate had to stay behind for her kids.
Meghan Markle also did not travel to Balmoral. A source confirmed to BAZAAR's Scobie that she is staying back in England-thought she will not attending tonight's WellChild Awards.
Buckingham Palace released a statement this morning, saying that after evaluating the queen, her "doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision."
Britain's Prime Minister, Liz Truss, wrote on Twitter, "The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts - and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time."
