Can you believe how quickly the summer went? We had so much fun going on little road trips and doing fun summer activities. I am getting excited for fall weather and the holidays. You might not realize it but there are some fun and wacky holidays in September.

September is the start of the fall season for many of us. Kids are back in school and the temperatures are starting to cool off. Some areas even start to see leaves changing colors. It's a time when it's finally ok to get excited about all things pumpkin!

September is also a month filled with fun and wacky holidays that you can easily celebrate with your family.

Celebrating these holidays doesn't have to be anything big and you don't have to celebrate all of them. But if you're looking for a fun way to change up your day you might want to throw in a fun and wacky holiday activity.

Celebrate World Letter Writing Day by you guessed it writing a letter. Grab some paper, a pen, crayons and even some stickers and write a good old-fashioned letter.

Let the kids pick who they want to write to and let them help lick the envelope and put on the stamp.

You could also celebrate this holiday by writing a letter to your kids that they can get in the mail. Because who doesn't love getting something in the mail.

Enjoy a delicious Blueberry popsicle on this fun holiday or even better make your own blueberry popsicles. Try this recipe using fresh fruit and coconut water.

National Skyscraper Day is celebrated on Louis H. Sullivan, an architect of early skyscrapers birthday. Celebrate this day by visiting a skyscraper, reading a book about skyscrapers, or trying to build a skyscraper out of toothpicks and marshmallows!

Enjoy this holiday by eating an extra dessert. Need some dessert ideas? Check out one of these yummy recipes.

Don't worry about dinner just grab a cheese pizza! Our favorite place to get cheese pizza is from Costco. The size of the pizza, price, and taste just can't be beaten!

This is a great day to spend some time reading together as a family or on your own.

Check out some of our favorite fall picture books here and if you're a parent wanting a little more control of your life consider reading one of these self-help books.

Who knew this acorn-shaped winter squash had a day dedicated to celebrating it? Try one of these taste Acorn Squash recipes to celebrate. If squash just isn't your thing then you could try making one of these acorn crafts.

Have some fun doing some patriotic crafts and activities. This Fizzing 4th of July science activity is quick and easy and the kids love it.

What better way to celebrate National Teddy Bear Day then with a Teddy Bear tea party or picnic. You could also do a cute teddy bear craft.

My kids love eating hot dogs so this will be an easy holiday that we can celebrate and I know the kids will actually eat dinner!

On this day it's a great time to talk to your kids about what happened on 9/11 and what you remember about that day.

There are several books and movies that share the story of 9/11 if it's something your kids are old enough to understand and handle learning more about.

This holiday is a little bit harder to remember with young kids, but it's a great time to do some patriotic crafts and listen to patriotic music.

I had to include chocolate milkshake day because we love chocolate milkshakes! But since most kids I know love playing video games this is a great day to set aside some time to play video games together as a family. Our family really enjoys playing Mario Kart together.

This is a great holiday for parents with older kids to enjoy. Have the kids help with the meals.

If you have young kids get them in the kitchen to help you cook something. Here are some quick and easy recipes to make with young kids.

Grab the crayons, markers, pencils, and any other coloring supplies and have fun coloring. Don't forget to grab this free Hello Fall coloring page to color!

I'm sure we all learn things online wither they are all true or false is questionable. But overall the internet is a great place to learn about different things we are interested in.

ABC Mouse is one of our favorite online learning websites. The kids think they are playing and I know they are learning.

What a great holiday to celebrate! Grab the Avocados and make this simple guacamole recipe! Enjoy!

Yum Apple Dumplings! Celebrate this holiday by making your own apple dumplings or going to the store to grab some. You could also celebrate by going apple picking!

Rice Krispies are one of the easiest treats to make with kids, thank goodness! So grab the ingredients and have fun making some Rice Krispies Treats together. Or you know you could always have them made and ready for an after school snack when the kids get home.

Keep it simple and enjoy watching a pirate movie. We will be celebrating by watching Peter Pan since it's a family friendly pirate movie.

Grab some pepperoni pizza and have a fun pizza night together as a family. Costco is one of our favorite places to grab a huge pepperoni pizza. We also really like making our own pita pizzas in the air fryer.

Celebrate this fun day by having a family date to the local miniature golf course.

Head out to a favorite ice cream shop or creamery to grab an ice cream cone or make one for yourself at home. You could even try your hand at making your own cones if you're feeling adventurous.

Have fun playing a game of checkers together. You could even take it outside and play a big yard game of checkers and enjoy the fall weather.

Celebrate this unique day by listening to the song "Bluebird of Happiness". You could also do a bluebird craft or make a brid feeder to hang in your yard.

Read some comic books together or have fun coming up with your own comic book story.

Spend some time learning about Johnny Appleseed and do a fun craft or two.

Spend a little time talking about your ancestors today. You could fill out a pedigree chart with your kids or you could simply share some stories or photos from your childhood. If you live close to grandparents this is also a great time to give them a visit.

Grab one of your favorite children's books and have fun sharing it with the kids in your life.

You could try eating goose on this day or just play a quick game of Duck, Duck, Goose.

Spend sometime listening to your favorite podcast or discover a new one to enjoy.

Labor Day is always the first Monday in September. There are a lot of fun things to do over the Labor Day weekend. We usually enjoy going camping as a family, but here are some other Labor Day Traditions to check out.

First Day of Fall is celebrated in September but not on a set day. The Fall Equinox is observed when the Sun crosses the celestial equator from north to south. In 2019 the Fall Equinox/ First Day of Fall is September 23, 2019.
