Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen shared a sweet reunion behind-the-scenes of Obi-Wan Kenobi while reminiscing on their past Star Wars memories - and our hearts couldn't be more full.

This year, the actors reunited in the Star Wars spin-off series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which follows the titular character 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin Skywalker (Hayden) finally transformed into Darth Vader.

Having presumed that Anakin died after their fiery duel, Obi-Wan comes face to face with his former Padawan while striving to keep the young Princess Leia Organa (Vivien Lyra Blair) safe from the clutches of Force-sensitive Inquisitor Reva (Moses Ingram).

To mark Disney Plus Day on Thursday September 8, Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi's Return was released on the platform, a film featuring interviews with the cast and creators of the show about how it came together, having been released 17 years after the final film in the prequel trilogy.

At one point, Ewan, 51, is standing on what looks like a desert film set, where he's joined by Hayden, 41, who's grinning from ear to ear.

'Hello there,' Ewan says, uttering Obi-Wan's famous line first made famous by the late Sir Alec Guinness in the original movies, before adding to his co-star: 'How are you?'

'When I first heard that they were doing Episode I to III and they needed an Obi-Wan Kenobi, I definitely didn't think it was for me. I thought, "This isn't who I am," just because of the scale of it. I felt like I was this indie actor,' he admitted.

'And I went in and I did a screen test. I thought, "No, I'm not gonna be doing something that big." But the truth was, I really wanted it. I wanted it because of how I felt about the original three Star Wars films. Shortly thereafter, I heard that they'd offered it to me, and I was so beyond excited.'

Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi's Return and Obi-Wan Kenobi are available to watch on Disney Plus.
