The Cambridge children have delighted royal fans as they appeared with their parents for their first day at their new school in Windsor.

Prince George and Prince Louis were dressed in matching school uniforms for the latter's first ever day of school and princess Charlotte looked darling in her little blue school dress.

She and George previously attended Thomas' Battersea in London but have now been enrolled at Lambrook School in Windsor with their younger brother.

Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge made the decision to change their eldest children's schooling after relocating from London to Windsor to be closer to the queen.

They were the picture of proud parents as they arrived hand-in-hand with their three children for a "settling in" afternoon at the new school on Wednesday.

While George, Charlotte and Louis were all dressed in uniform, William opted for a casual navy suit and loosely buttoned dress shirt.

Catherine was channelling Autumn hues in a brown spotted midi dress by Rixo and matching Gianvito Rossi suede pumps.

She and William are expected to accompany their three children to school again on Thursday, which will mark the official start of term at Lambrook.

Though it's a big change for the young royals, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said in a statement last month that they're "pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas's".

"We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community," Headmaster at Lambrook School, Jonathan Perry, said in a statement last month.

While enrolled at Thomas' Battersea, George and Charlotte went by their first names, choosing to drop their royal titles in the classroom.

It's believed William and Catherine made the decision and will continue the tradition with their youngest son Louis as he begins his schooling this week.

The couple relocated to Windsor with their children this month, moving into the 19th century Adelaide Cottage as they support the Queen in her final years.
