"After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now," he wrote in an Instagram post.

Justin Bieber has had a complicated few months due to his health crisis, and yesterday, he made the decision to step back from touring to focus on his recovery.

In June, the "Peaches" singer was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that occurs when a varicella-zoster virus infects a nerve in the head. Among other things, the syndrome caused his face to become partly paralyzed. To heal, Bieber had to lay low at home and, therefore, postpone the rest of his shows in the North America leg of his Justice World Tour.

"This is pretty serious as you can see. I wish this wasn't the case, but obviously, my body's telling me I got to slow down, and I hope you guys understand, and I'll be using this time to just rest and relax, and get back to 100 percent so that I can do what I was born to do," he said in a video posted to Instagram at the time, in which his restricted movement was apparent.

In late July, after his partial paralysis went away, he consulted with his doctors, team, and family, and because he was feeling better, Bieber resumed his tour, with a performance at the Lucca Summer Festival in Italy. On Instagram after the concert, he shared his excitement about ending his hiatus.

"Luv u guys and I missed you ?????? ??: @evanpaterakis," he captioned a series of photos of him onstage.

But after performing six shows, Bieber said in his latest Instagram post, it all "took a real toll on me."

"This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil. After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I 'm going to take a break from touring for the time being," Bieber wrote. "I 'm going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better. I've been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!"
