A Minecraft modder has decided to take matters into their own hands and create their own in-game list of player stats. The video game itself is perfect for alleviating boredom, with so much to do and see. As a result, being able to view progress that's been made is very useful. From the amount of distance walked to damage taken over the course of a playthrough, many like to see how their character is doing in the world, with a list of figures to symbolize how far they've advanced.

It's certainly not unusual for fans to come along and modify the game to some extent, and this latest add-on is no different. There are plenty of mods for Minecraft out there, some of which can almost turn it into a new game entirely. For example, there's one which implements a lot more furniture, such as tables and chairs. There's also one for the budding space explorer in the guise of "GalactiCraft," which enables players to explore biomes on different planets and adds the ability to create technologically advanced items, including vehicles, rockets, and solar panels.

But for all the work that players put into their world, many want some visual feedback on what they've accomplished so far. That's where "Better Statistics Screen" comes into play. As spotted by PCGamesN, this Minecraft mod does exactly what it says on the tin and gives a much more thorough list of player stats. A video shows what can be expected, including information about the number of times items have been interacted with. For example, there's a stat for the number of trees chopped and a section called "a healthy diet," which lets players know how much of a particular type of food has been eaten. The mod also features tabs and a search bar for easy access to specific statistics. Anyone interested in trying it out can download it from Curse Forge.

While some people still consider Minecraft to be a video game more suited for kids, there are plenty of adults that like to get to grips with the blocky world. Even without modifications, the vanilla experience is chock full of so much content and limitless creativity that it's no wonder the game is still going strong to this day.

In fact, with Mojang continuing to release updates for the game, it's going to be a while before Minecraft finally fades from the limelight. The fact that the community is out there putting out mods to increase the lifespan even more suggests the open-world sandbox title is going to be a firm favorite for many more years to come.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
