As a mom, if there's one thing you know is that mornings are way too short and stressful! Time flies by when you must help kids with homework, finding their shoes, or picking their outfits. Every parent dreads the morning panic! Thankfully, with a few simple hacks, you can keep the family chaos under control and ensure everyone gets to school or work on time!

Even when things get a little hectic in the morning, you want to make time for breakfast. There's a reason breakfast is the most important meal of the day: It keeps you full and energized until lunchtime. Did you know that people who skip breakfast are more at risk of health complications and weight gain? So, let's all start the day with a healthy breakfast:

#1. Don't fear vitamins and supplements

According to many post-pandemic surveys, approximately 80% of Americans rely on supplements and vitamins to complete their diets. Indeed, preparation and cooking can reduce the nutritional value of your food. Therefore, using multivitamins for teens, kids, and adults will ensure everyone can get the vitamins they need.

#2. Aim for proteins

According to nutritionists, a healthy breakfast should include approximately 30g of protein. Ideally, you want to aim for approximately this same amount of protein at each meal of the day. Proteins are useful to regulate blood sugar, keep you full, and manage energy expenditure.

Reducing carbs, such as white bread, will help reduce hunger peaks before lunchtime!

#3. Plan your breakfast in advance

Overnight oats are a fantastic time-saver for the morning. They need only a few minutes to prepare the evening before, and they pack a ton of goodness - including proteins. You can check out this smart hack for flavorsome oats. If you pack them in jars, you can even take your breakfast safely with you on public transport.

Another great idea for a quick breakfast is to prepare batches, which can then freeze. Breakfast egg muffins are a protein bomb that can be kept in the freezer or the fridge, so all you need is to pop the muffins in the microwave in the morning to get them to temperature. Each muffin contains an egg, so if you are looking for a high protein meal with low carb, a couple of those will do the trick.

#4. Fresh fruits over juices

Fruit juices are convenient, but they are often high in sugar and additives. So, to keep things healthy and fast in the morning, you can opt for a bowl of fruits, focusing on easy to eat and prep ingredients:

#5. Smoothies or no smoothies?

Smoothies pack a ton of goodness. However, they can be cumbersome to prepare and require additional washing up. If you get up early enough, you can prepare simple 3 to 4 ingredients smoothies with Greek yogurt and nut milk for protein. Avoid unhealthy ingredients such as sweetener, sugar, and honey - despite its anti-inflammatory properties, honey remains high in calories. Spices such as cinnamon and vanilla will bring sweetness.

A little planning can go a long way when it comes to breakfast. Cereals often seem a practical option, but very few brands have a high nutritional value. Therefore, smoothies, protein batches, and fresh fruits are a much healthier and more nutritious meal!
