Surprise, surprise - AllModern, purveyor of many designer pieces has cheap wallpaper! And it's beautiful, too.

While every wallpaper doesn't meet our price maximum of $2 per square foot, many limbo under the bar. Those include this beautiful Art Deco-inspired Cosmic Fan at 76 cents per sq. ft., and the dramatic botanical Leopold Tree in deep teal or a rich brown at $1.25 per sq. ft.

You have to sort through what fits your budget, but we found plenty to love at less than $2 per square foot. For starters, we found a beautiful classic damask in four bold colors (65 cents per sq. ft.), a sophisticated toile in five colors ($1.65 per sq. ft.) and a glamorous botanical in three colors (90 cents per sq. ft.).

York is a wall covering industry stalwart so you can trust the quality of their non-pasted papers.

Prices vary, but JoAnna Gaines' Magnolia Home wallpaper includes an Awning Stripe in seven colors ($1.75 per sq. ft.). There's also Rifle Paper Company's folk-art-y Camont ($1.65 per sq. ft.) and Waverly's Asian-inspired Lotus Lake pattern in three colorways ($1.31 per sq. ft.).

Another gem for wallpaper is the boho boss: Anthropologie. Do your due diligence when you sort, checking the square footage coverage against the price and sort by price when you shop to find the steals.

The search pays off when you find an adorable owl pattern ($1.92 per sq. ft.), a bold black-and-white frond pattern ($1.92 per sq. ft.) or this Magnolia Home Hand-Loom pattern ($1.55 per sq. ft.). And never forget the sale section where you can make some major scores.

The Home Depot offers a shockingly large selection of cheap wallpaper. Check out this Arts and Crafts style Anemone design ($1.70 per sq. ft.), a lush palm-leaf design ($1.38 per sq. ft.) that rivals much spendier designers, and even a delicate Graham & Brown butterfly print that's safe for a bathroom because it's moisture-resistant ($1.09 per sq. ft.).

If you're willing to try peel-and-stick, this is the deal of the decade: Wallpops NuWalls paired with famous designers, including the storied textile and wall covering design house Scalamandré. That means you can score a roll of the iconic Masai Zebra for just $1.46 per square foot. Bananas!

Milton & King feels like a bold, modern update to lots of classic patterns. Take What in Carnation, an oversized print that clocks in at $2 per square foot. Or transform your room into a Hydrangea Garden with this two-roll set ($1.98 per sq. ft.). If you're willing to go a smidge higher than our limit at $2.03 per sq. ft., you can get the juicy Fruity wallpaper.

For a great but not overwhelming selection of removable and peel-and-stick wallpaper options, Target is a great bet.

Threshold offers a lot of sophisticated, restrained designs, while Opalhouse with its designer collaborations offers boho and quirky. You can also score other buzzy brands like Tempaper and RoomMates, convenient and affordable for around $1 to $1.25 per sq. ft.
