Show Me The Money owner and high-profile rugby league agent Craig Harrison has spoken about Will Maher's departure from Hull KR.

The towering forward has left Sewell Group Craven Park after three seasons in East Hull, but Harrison seems to believe his client would have been offered a new deal if Willie Peters wasn't the new head coach of the Robins.

In his latest podcast, which is broadcasted on YouTube, Murdoch was asked about Maher's exit, with the agent explaining the process around Peters' recruitment and why the former Castleford Tigers prop doesn't fit the bill for the Australian and what he wants to embed at Hull KR.

"I try to explain to people how the salary cap works," said Murdoch. "Hull KR might play off 1.9 million pounds, with a 32, 33 man squad. Will (Maher) is a proper baller and is unappreciated a lot. I think he has averaged 20 games a year over the three seasons he's been at KR.

"He's not been on great money, more like moneyball cash, as I like to call it. I think the new coach Willie Peters wants a faster type of prop. I think if Danny (McGuire) would have stayed on or Tony (Smith), Will might still be Rovers. They both liked him, but Willie has to make his stamp on this team.

"He (Peters) is looking for leg speed and big drives after contact. That's what's happening in the NRL now, and he wants to bring that over here. Will has the size. What I would say is that Will is durable. If you think he's going to be an aggressive player who grabs people by the neck, he's not going to do it. It's not his nature but what he is is brave. He always sticks his hand up to take hard carries, and he's a fitness freak and a good person to have around a club."

Maher has been linked with a number of clubs since Rovers confirmed his exit however Harrison firmly believes he is good enough to land another Super League gig in 2023.

"I think he will land another Super League club. Simply because of the money he asks for and his ability. I speak to Will every day. If we can't get another club in Super League, it will be a Championship side that wants to make Super League because that's where Will wants to be playing. I hope he gets a good send-off from the Rovers fans, and he deserves it."
