(UPDATED MAY 2022) Ormond Beach is a gorgeous Florida East Coast vacation destination, sitting right beside iconic Daytona Beach. It has less crowded beaches, noteworthy historical sites and scenic drives, and best of all, really great food. Here is a restaurant guide to Ormond Beach, including what to order in case you need suggestions. There are plenty of seafood hotspots, but rest assured you will want to broaden your horizons because this has some foodie-approved eateries you won't want to miss.

A delicious beachfront restaurant is The Beach Bucket, on South Atlantic Avenue in Ormond Beach. Parking is free and the ocean views are second to none at this spot the locals refer to as "a little slice of paradise". The Eggs Benedict is top-notch, and the omelets with toast and fried potatoes is fantastic, as well. I loved that they put cheese inside and out of my tasty little omelet.

For breakfast, Peach Valley Cafe is "all that and a bag of chips". This Ormond Beach staple has two locations (five others outside of Ormond Beach), attractive scenery and Instagram-worthy murals. While all of these are great assets, the food is still the best offering at Peach Valley Cafe.

Be sure to try the sack of orchard fresh apple fritters-fried hot, added to a brown bag of cinnamon sugar, and tossed for just the right mix of deliciousness. The Kick Hash Breakfast is one of the specialties and a good, hearty breakfast option. PVC signature breakfast potatoes are mixed with peppers, onions, and roast beef, then topped with two eggs done your way. Pick your bread (biscuit, toast, English muffin) to go along with your hash. I added a side of sausage gravy for mine.

This award-winning institution in downtown Ormond Beach is the best of both worlds: a gastropub with exotic dishes and a cool indoor vibe, plus a va-va-voom Kona Tiki Bar out back with so many cool things you'll be mesmerized by it all. I like to dine out there, as well as have fun drinks named after famous songs like the Blister in the Sun.

The Maybe I'm Amazed pork shu-mais wonton-purses make a great sharing appetizer. Inside is ground pork, carrots, peppers, sriracha, and ginger. The little beauties sit on a bed of Asian slaw tossed with ponzu.

For a main course, my husband and I shared the Johnny Be Gouda, a Thai Chicken pizza with smoked gouda and peanut sauce. Yum!! Save room, if possible, for the ultimate Jameson Bread Pudding topped with caramel bacon sauce, which I know has you drooling at the thought of.

The food, craft cocktails, and desserts are all highly recommended at Rose Villa Southern Table, a former Speakeasy and now gorgeous pink Victorian home. Inside, you are in for a treat, from the original decor and attractive dining rooms to the tempting meals and picture-perfect desserts. Rose's Deviled Eggs make a great nibbler while waiting on your main dishes.

The Shrimp and Grits is pretty hard to beat, so if you fancy Southern cuisine, I recommend this choice.

I even go there for dessert only, since they are hard to beat. The house made Very Berry Cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream and The Hummingbird cake are my two favorites. The cake can easily be shared between two or three people. Come hungry!

For more Things to Love about Ormond Beach than eating, here are a few things we always enjoy.

My top dinner recommendation for Ormond Beach is the European Cafe & Schnitzel House on Atlantic Avenue. You are instantly transported to Germany (or Austria) when you walk in this authentic eatery. Our server was so professional and was the only person attending the whole restaurant, but doing it with ease and care.

My Jaegerbratin was fantastic, paired with homemade spaetzle and the best red cabbage I've ever had. My husband enjoyed every bite of his chicken Schnitzel. The entire experience was fantastic, start to finish, but I must add that the cup of sauerkraut soup was insanely good, though at the mention of it, I wasn't sure of how it could go.

Choose between classic or modern donuts at this trendy little snack stop. The cold brew at Donnie's Donuts is on point, as well as the fair-trade organic coffee. Between seeing the signs, advertisements in local flyers, and driving by it every day, I couldn't wait to visit this donut shop and went back for seconds the next day. It was that good!

You can create your own donut combinations from dozens of frostings, creams, toppings, and drizzles, or choose from the already created beauties such as the German Chocolate Cake and Butterbear. Vegan donut options are also available.

Set to remind you of the post underground nightclubs that sprang up during Prohibition, and decorated as if it were set in Hollywood, CA, the 31 Supper Club in Ormond Beachis a feast for all of your senses.

My husband and I enjoy appetizers on the gorgeous covered patio at 31 Supper Club, and sipped one of their sheer perfection craft cocktails, all the while feeling like royalty in the over-the-top swanky setting. Whether you order heavy appetizers, a full meal, or light salad, the food is top-notch and incredibly enjoyable.

We shared the 31 Roasted Ciabatta bread with a smoked Gouda fondue and garlic butter, then split a Caesar salad, with A+ house made dressing and herb croutons.
