Coventry City boss Mark Robins has praised the 'incredible' support from the fans who made the trip to Carrow Road to witness the 3-0 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday.

The Sky Blues fell behind early on after Gustavo Hamer was dispossessed by Marcelino Nunez on the halfway line, before Teemu Pukki netted his first goal of the Championship season after capitalising on the lapse of concentration.

Coventry did think they had fired themselves back into the game in the first half, after captain Kyle McFadzean's effort rifled into the back of the net - only to have the celebrations cut short by an offside flag. Following the decision, the game quickly escalated out of control for Robins' side, as Norwich cruised to a 3-0 victory which could have been much worse for the Sky Blues.

Despite the loss, the travelling fans were in full voice throughout the whole afternoon and both the players and coaching staff showered their support for the receptions after the game. Commenting on the support, Robins said: "I've got to say the supporters were magnificent. They were brilliant, it's been difficult for them for a number of years and they never cease to amaze me. The players can't fail but to respond in a positive way and I asked for that the other day, as it was a bit flat at home [vs Preston]

"Because we're going back to the stadium, every body was probably annoyed to say the least. We've just got to come through it and stick together, to build some momentum into some good performances."

Robins then talked about the moment that he approached the travelling fans after the game and the relationship they have with the club after a positive reaction was given to the players despite the loss, and said: "No absolutely and that's been a long time coming. It's been a lot of work going into community work and things like that.

"It's a testament to the supporters and the players really. As a player or a team you spark off each other and that has built up over time. Everybody talks about the twelfth man and things like that and it's true. It's incredible and they never cease to amaze me. They are hungry for some success."
