Sep. 3-Mercy Health - Lorain is expanding the care options available to the Vermilion community with more services offered at 1605 State Road.

For years, this location has been the site of Mercy Health - Vermilion Primary Care, but patients now will have access to a variety of specialty care, according to a news release.

Mercy Health - Vermilion Behavioral Health is open offering complete psychological care with a range of treatment options for those who are experiencing changes in mental or behavioral health, the release said.

Dr. Elizabeth Frantz, a highly trained and dedicated psychologist who has practiced behavioral health for more than 14 years, will see patients at the new clinic on Fridays, according to the release.

Anyone wishing to make an appointment can call 440-967-8713.

Other services now available at Mercy Health's Vermilion site include orthopedics, sports medicine, as well as outpatient rehabilitation and therapy, according to the release.

"We want to meet people where they are with the services they need, so it only made sense to add specialty care options to our existing primary care location in Vermilion," said Tyson Ringle, vice president of Mercy Health Physicians - Lorain. "The goal is to continue Mercy Health's legacy of providing quality and compassionate care, while also expanding access by providing a closer-to-home team of knowledgeable and compassionate providers who can care for all their health care needs."

Mercy Health - Vermilion Outpatient Rehabilitation and Therapy also is open providing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy for all ages, according to the release.

Sports medicine therapy is available to help local athletes in the community improve physical performance, recover from an injury and stay active, the release said.

For those needing a referral, Mercy Health - Vermilion Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is conveniently located right next door. From advanced surgical and nonsurgical treatments to help with any bone, muscle, tendon and joint issues, and the orthopedists and sports medicine specialists will get you back to your active life, the release said.

Appointments can be made by calling 440-222-4970.
