Warning: Spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 3

The post-credits scene for She-Hulk: Attorney: At Law episode 3 didn't make any sense. The episode capped off a series of Megan Thee Stallion jokes and references with a second cameo from the Grammy Award-winning rapper. The moment in question saw her share a scene with She-Hulk herself.

Megan Thee Stallion was surprisingly crucial to She-Hulk episode 3. Though she had nothing to do with Jennifer Walters' efforts to get Abomination released from prison, she factored heavily into a different storyline tied to the Superhuman Law Division. In addition to using her as the alter ego assumed by the Asgardian light elf in the episode, She-Hulk brought the real Megan Thee Stallion into the courtroom for a last-minute cameo. The show then followed it up with a scene of her agreeing to become Walters' client just before dancing with She-Hulk in her office.

Megan Thee Stallion's guest appearance in the post-credits faces one problem: it doesn't work within the context of the show's story. It felt as if it was included for no other reason than to have Megan Thee Stallion dance with She-Hulk. After all, Walters works in the Superhuman Law Division, which means all of her cases now involve super-powered individuals. Obviously, Megan Thee Stallion doesn't fit that bill. Arguably the only thing that could adequately explain She-Hulk episode 3's post-credits is if the shapeshifting elf was secretly impersonating Walters so that she could meet Megan Thee Stallion. Otherwise, the scene doesn't really work.

She-Hulk episode 3's Megan Thee Stallion cameo continues a trend that has become unique to the MCU show. Unlike all other Disney+ shows in Marvel's Phase 4 lineup, She-Hulk is the only series to end each of its episodes with a post-credits scene. However, She-Hulk's post-credits scenes aren't following the same formula as the MCU movies and shows that preceded it. Like the premiere's Captain America virginity reveal and episode 2's scene at the Walters family home, She-Hulk's approach is less about offering teases about the future and more about providing laughs and other humorous moments that didn't fit within the episodes themselves.

For the most part, She-Hulk's unorthodox end-credits scenes fits with how unusual it is for the MCU. Marvel has done comedy before, of course, but the series is still considerably different from everything else it's ever done, as evidenced by She-Hulk's fourth-wall-breaking lines. However, since the show has already created a certain set of expectations for its post-credits scenes, it's possible that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will use that to usher in a surprise reveal that sets up a future storyline or character at a later point.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law releases new episodes on Thursdays on Disney+.
