An eight-year-old boy has been killed and six more people, including two minors, have been wounded in a shelling by Russian military forces in the Nikolaev region, Ukrainian regional authorities have reported.
"Right now in Berezneguvate, in the Nikolaev region, an 8-year-old boy has been killed, four more people have been wounded by shrapnel and two of them are minors. Two wounded in the town of Nikolaev," reported the chairwoman of the Nikolaev Regional Council Hanna Zamazeyeva via her channel on the Telegram network, Ukrainian media reported.
Zamazeyeva explained that medical and emergency services are already in the attacked places, although all the circumstances related to these incidents have not yet been clarified.
Earlier, the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform had reported quoting the mayor of Nikolaev, Oleksandr Sienkovich, that a woman had been injured in Nikolaev as a result of an explosion.
Russian attacks have also been reported overnight in the city of Voznesensk, also in the Nikolaev region.
