College football is back, but is Texas?
The Longhorns will start the 2022 college football season unranked after finishing 5-7 overall and 3-6 in Big 12 play last season.
In the second season under head coach Steve Sarkisian, Texas will have a new starting quarterback, redshirt freshman Quinn Ewers, a star transfer from Ohio State. Ewers was the No. 1-ranked player in the Class of 2021 but he didn't play a single snap in Columbus before transferring.
He returns to his home state of Texas and is suiting up for the Longhorns after growing up a fan.

Joining him in the backfield will be a potential Heisman Trophy candidate in Bijan Robinson, who is seen by many as the best NFL running back prospect in college football this season. Despite Texas' shortcomings last year, Robinson rushed for 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns as the Longhorns' every-down back.
Texas will open its season against a Louisiana Monroe team that finished 4-8 overall and 2-6 in Sun Belt play last season.
