Stranger Things: 10 Actions "Good" Characters Did That Rubbed Redditors The Wrong Way

Even though it's been more than a month since the second volume of season 4 of Stranger Things started streaming on Netflix, the hype hasn't died down yet. Fans are still talking about their favorite moments of the season, as well as critiquing aspects of the TV show they didn't like too much.

Although the show has some of the most likable characters on TV, it doesn't mean that they don't make mistakes from time to time. Redditor users have commented on some actions the good characters have done throughout the seasons that made them uncomfortable. It goes to show even the most well-intentioned characters can make mistakes.

In the first season of Stranger Things, when Mike, Dustin, and Lucas are looking for Will, they encounter Eleven. However, Lucas is suspicious of the fact that Eleven appeared at the same time that Will disappeared, and he's not entirely convinced about trusting her or her seemingly supernatural powers.

However, Redditor MyriVerse believes that "Lucas had no reasons at all to be suspicious of El. He was totally irrational." Lucas is often suspicious and strong-willed in nature, and it makes sense that he didn't trust Eleven initially, since he didn't know her at all and some of her behaviors were out of the ordinary. Eventually, Lucas changed his mind about the girl when he noticed she was only trying to protect them.

In the third season of the show, Max and Eleven become great friends and start talking about their love lives, like teenagers often do. However, Max's strong temperament translates into her being overly protective of Eleven and advising her to not forgive Mike for lying.

Redditor CaroSJ comments, "I don't like how Max criticizes Mike for wanting to control Eleven while simultaneously speaking for Eleven and having her act completely under her instructions." It makes sense that people didn't like Max controlling Eleven, because as everyone knows, Eleven is very capable of defending herself. Max was arguably just looking out for her friend but her methods were hypocritical.

Redditor MyriVerse dislikes Bob "because the advice he gave Will was horrible." When Will has terrible dreams about the Mind Flayer during the second season, Bob thinks he's just having nightmares and suggests that Will face his fears and shout at the monster. However, Will gets taken by the Shadow Monster.

Some people blame Bob for this incident, although it's impossible to know if it was really Bob's fault. It's possible that the Mind Flayer would have gotten to Will anyway, and Bob's advice was a loving gesture towards Will.

When Eleven and Mike first start dating, Hopper doesn't deal with it very well. He tries to take care of El by being very strict about their relationship, asking her to keep the door open at all times, which El refuses to do. Eventually, upset about the amount of time the couple spends together, he forces Mike to become distant, which creates a breach between Mike and Eleven.

Even though Hopper was trying to be a good father, he didn't try to understand Eleven's feelings and underestimated the importance of her relationship with Mike. However, as Redditor Tce_ commented, "he seemed to regret how he treated El at least, in late season 3."

Dustin and Mike's friendship dynamic includes a lot of sarcastic comments and making fun of each other, which has rubbed some Redditors the wrong way. As much as the audience loves their friendship, some people believe that Dustin has become a little meaner than necessary.

According to Tce_ "they really did add a mean streak in season 3 and season 4!" However, even if Dustin comes across as a little callous sometimes, everyone knows he's completely loyal to Steve, and finding humor in all situations is one of Dustin's biggest strengths.

In the beginning of the show, Nancy was dating Steve, but their relationship was difficult so Nancy breaks up with him. Finding company and understanding in Jonathan, she falls in love with him and starts dating him. However, in the last season, the couple has been struggling with the distance, and Nancy's attraction for Steve seems to have rekindled.

Even though Nancy is one of the best characters in Stranger Things season 4, Redditor Madam_Zombie says that "She's stringing Steve and Jonathan along like puppies and it needs to stop. She either needs to pick one or they need to leave her." While it remains to be seen who Nancy will eventually end up with, some fans believe she should ditch the pair altogether and set her sights on Robin instead.

Murray is a journalist with an inquisitive mind who is able to stay ahead of most situations. He's also very distrustful of Russians, as he showed when Alexei first appeared at his doorstep. For these reasons, it surprised fans when Murray simply drank coffee from a Russian man who was helping him and Joyce get to Hopper.

Redditor Sweetbeans2001 comments, "Murray being savvy enough to identify Yuri's note about Hopper and then being naive enough to accept and drink coffee from this Russian extortionist." As the Redditor points out, Murray's behavior doesn't make sense at all. Fortunately, he redeemed himself by using his karate skills to save the day later on.

Throughout the fourth season of Stranger Things, the audience sees Will struggling with something. Because of the way he looks at Mike and Eleven, and how he expresses feeling abandoned by Mike, it seems Will may have romantic feelings for his long-time friend.

Fans of the show don't understand how Mike could have been so blind to not realize his best friend was crying beside him in the back of the van. Redditor selavit comments that "Mike had character regression. He used to be this impulsive but loveable kid who would literally jump off the cliff for his friends, but now he can't even see Will crying next to him." It seems like Will is becoming one of the characters with worst friends in TV.

At the end of the last season, Eddie decides to fight all the Demobats on his own to give Nancy, Steve, and Robin a better fighting chance. However, the bats were too much, and they end up biting him to death, with Dustin accompanying him in his last minutes.

Still, a lot of viewers believe Eddie sacrifices himself in vain since the team would have still defeated Vecna without him being so reckless. Redditor nonstickgluestick believes that "Eddie died like a dog. He wasn't saving anyone but his own pride. He should have lived but instead he acted like a fool." While it's clear that he did what he thought was best to save his new friends, Eddie definitely deserved a lot better from his story.

When Eleven piggybacks to help Max, she arrives just in time. She uses the element of surprise to get the upper hand and successfully flies Vecna against the stairs, knocking him unconscious for a few minutes. However, while Eleven makes sure Max is okay, Vecna recovers and uses Eleven's distraction against her.

A lot of people are upset that Eleven didn't use this moment to defeat Vecna. Redditor darionsw wonders "why was El not able to defeat Vecna already the first time in the ball room?" Unfortunately, Vecna has more experience with his abilities than Eleven, and even though the girl was trying to defend Max, in the end, she couldn't fully protect her.
