Aug. 30-Main Street Vermilion will host a first-of-its-kind Historic Walking Tour on Sept. 17 that is filled with engaging stories, history, trivia, folklore and fun facts about our 200 year old harbor town community, iconic lighthouse, Lake Erie and Vermilion River history, according to a news release.
All tours begin at the Harbourtown Fine Arts Center, 736 Main St., with refreshments and a variety of themed raffle baskets to win, the release said.
The tour is hour-long, docent led, easy stroll throughout the historic downtown Vermilion and the Harbourtown neighborhood featuring lake captain homes, historic houses, the Vermilion lighthouse and riverbank, according to the release.
Tours are at comfortable pace with no hills or steps.
Tour times are scheduled every half hour beginning at 10 a.m. with the last tour at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20.
To arrange a tour time, call Main Street Vermilion at 440-963-0772 to schedule a time for you or your group, the release said.
"Once your tour time is confirmed we'll direct you to pay via check, cash or credit card or online (processing fee charged),"according to the release. "Following the tour, we invite you to stay in town to shop, dine and enjoy our Small Town on a Great Lake."
