Tofino camping places visitors amid beautiful old-growth forests and long, flat beaches in Canada's great surfing hotspots.

Imagine waking up to the roar of the ocean, birds, and being surrounded by ancient rainforests. Tofino camping offers you unspoiled wilderness with amenities, local business, and memories to last a lifetime.

This guide will help you find the appropriate Tofino camping ground to guarantee you have the most pleasing Tofino camping experience, whether you are searching for a laid-back summer beach holiday, or a budget base for your surfing activities in Tofino, or a pleasant place to have an excursion.

Things in Tofino can move slowly at times, and the arrival of the Surf Grove campground is no exception. It took two decades for a new campground to open, but it's been well worth the wait. Surf Grove is the latest and best innovation in camping, located atop a previous campsite that had fallen into disrepair. Camping here is a delight because of new amenities such as contemporary washrooms, well-spaced grounds, and well-designed common areas.

The Pacific Sands Beach Resort, Long Beach Lodge, and Cox Bay Beach Resort are all close by. A short boardwalk leads to Cox Bay Beach which is one of the best beaches in Tofino. Surf Grove provides 190 campsites with water, sewer, and power that can be reserved online in advance. In addition, in 2021, sites with RVs that are ready to go will be available, as will sites solely for tents.

If you don't feel like cooking, you can simply walk down the beach to The Great Room at Long Beach Lodge or to the Surfside Grill at Pacific Sands Beach Resort to enjoy a meal. Walking along Cox Bay Beach is perfect in the evenings at sunset or to enjoy a quiet morning before locals and tourists alike descend onto the beach.

Driving towards Tofino from Pacific Rim National Park, you will turn left on Maltby Road and this perfect spot for camping in Tofino will be on your right hand side.

Surf Grove Campground - 1451 Pacific Rim Highway

If camping on the coast in a lush rainforest sounds ideal, then book your spot at Wya Point Resort. You can bring your own RV or tent, or take advantage of their yurts and lodges.

Located just outside of the town of Ucluelet, you can find all the amenities or privacy you need. Ucluelet has an aquarium if you have the kids along, and you can get supplies while you're in town.

There are two campground sites available, the Oceanside campsites and the Woodland campsites. There are flush toilets and showers available.

Drive-in and walk-in campsites are available at Wya Point. Some of the walk-in tent sites are located near the parking area and are nestled among the trees lining the beach's top. You may wake up to the most breathtaking view and go right out onto the sand.

Although some tiny RVs and pop-up trailers will fit, the sites are primarily designed for tents. The drive-in sites are a little further back from the shore and up the hill. RV's must be under 25 feet. A line of coastal yurts may be found on one end of the beach.

Driving a few kilometers down a dirt road to get to the campsite is a wonderful bonus because it keeps you away from the highway and any traffic noise. All of the sites are pretty secluded and include a picnic table and a fire pit. Dogs are welcome so bring along your furry friends and enjoy the many trails surrounding this Tofino camping spot.

Coming from Port Alberni, turn left at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Turn right onto Willobrae Road and this Tofino camping spot is located on the left-hand side.

Wya Point Resort Campground - 2460 Willowbrae Road

This beautiful campsite offers all amenities for those needed hook-ups for water, sewer, and electricity. There are public kitchens, washrooms, and showers for those in tents. 

Bring your camera, bring your furry friends, bring your fishing rod, but don't forget to make a reservation. With camping available all year long, it can be booked up for months in advance.

There are wifi connections and access to hiking trails. It's ideal for the whole family or a couple or individuals needing to just get back to nature. You can also book a view of the ocean or wake up and kiss a tree. 

There are 94 drive-in sites with electricity and 20 primary walk-in woodland areas in the campground. All sites are bookable, and when registration starts in January, the summer high season dates sell out nearly instantly. If you want to have the best chance of getting a campground in Tofino, book ahead of time or visit in the spring or fall.

There is one oTENTik camping site at Green Point Campground.

This Tofino camping spot is 12 km north of the Ucluelet-Tofino junction on Hwy 4, midway between Tofino and Ucluelet.

Beautiful oceanfront camping for the whole family, Bella Pacifica is a popular destination. You can make reservations online to make sure you get the ideal spot. The sooner you book, the better your options.

Full-service hookups for trailers and RVs, plus showers, washrooms, and laundry facilities, if you need. Free wifi, because you may need that, too. Each campsite has its own fire pit.

The campsites lining the ocean are beautiful, so book early to snag one of those spots.

Old Growth forests, water, sand beaches, and close to Tofino, if you are adventurous. Don't come here if you are looking to party, as it is family-friendly with quiet time from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.

Driving from Pacific Rim National Park, turn left onto Mackenzie Beach Road and continue to the end of the road to reach this Tofino camping spot.

This family-owned campground is located near the entrance of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve in Ucluelet. They offer a beautiful place to camp for the whole family and even have a surf school.

Perfect for those hiking in with just a backpack to those with their whole family in a large RV. Full hookup services for larger units, hot showers, drinkable water, and a store that provides most things you may need.

There are also hot tubs, saunas, picnic tables, fire pits, and more beauty in nature than you can even imagine. If you want to go Tofino camping here, make a reservation as soon as you can. 

At this gorgeous campground, you'll find 75 campsites ranging from tenting sites to large full-service RV spots situated on 72 acres of serene forest. You'll find that the Front Lot is a perfect place for those who want to be in close proximity to all of the activities. It features sites 1A - 49, which include not only two hot tubs but also sauna access.

The Back Lot is a secret oasis for those who love feeling like they're surrounded by nature. With 25 private and treed campsites on 54 acres of new land, this area will have you feeling more connected to Mother Nature than ever before!

Coming from Port Alberni, turn left at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Drive 500 meters and you will see this Tofino camping spot on the left-hand side.

Surf Junction Campground - 2650 Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy

If Crystal Cove Beach is your idea of Tofino camping, then book early. This campground has more of a resort feel and is located on Mackenzie Beach. You can bring your own RV, go glamping, or book a log cabin for the ultimate experience.

Log cabins come in a variety of sizes and you can choose which view you prefer, waterfront, forest, or resort. For glamping or camping, you get full-service amenities, electricity, sewer, water, fire pit, and picnic table. 

There are showers throughout the campsite and free wifi. You can buy a bundle of firewood, plus restaurants, laundry, and other items like books, magazines, board games, and more. Perfect for families with kids.

It is important to note that Crystal Cove does not offer tent camping, only RV sites or log cottages.

Long Beach campground is located next to the airport and the golf course which its name implies. This Tofino campground features a golf course, plenty of full-service camping sites, crashing waves, and ancient rainforest. Whether you are looking for adventure or to tune in to Mother nature, Long Beach Campground has it all.

Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a fire pit. There is running drinking water throughout the sites. They also have flush toilets and free showers. Accommodations for tents, RVs, and various-sized campers.

There is 76 campsites total, with a mix of considerable sites in a highly forested region and a few brighter spots on grass. There are also six fully serviced RV sites available.

The campground is in a fantastic location, with all of Pacific Rim National Park's attractions within a short drive and the world-famous Long Beach is just across the highway. The village of Tofino is only a short distance away.

Coming from Port Alberni, turn right at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Drive past the Tofino airport and turn right onto Grice Bay Road. Turn right again onto Grice Bay and you will see this Tofino camping spot.

Long Beach Golf Course Campground - 1850 Pacific Rim Hwy

Ucluelet Campground offers a large space with plenty of camping spots available. You can choose the view you want, mountain, harbor or forest. They also have a variety of sites that may fit larger RVs and campers. Full-service hookups can accommodate self-contained campers year-round, and there are sites for hikers just coming in with tents.

There is plenty to do for the whole family nearby like Hiking, whale watching tours, kayaks, zip-lining, exploring the local scene in Ucluelet, or simply relaxing at your campsite and enjoying being away from it all.

Coming from Port Alberni, turn left at the T junction when you see the visitor center onto Tofino-Ucluelet Hwy. Drive 8km and turn left onto Seaplane Base Road and you will see this camping spot on the right-hand side.
