Genshin Impact's recent major update has finally added a new major region to the game, the long-awaited mysterious land of Sumeru. The addition of the new nation was well-received in the community as players claim that this is probably the most iconic region in the game so far.

Sumeru is divided into two main parts: the rainforests that are already available in Version 3.0 and a new desert part of the map that will arrive in the upcoming updates. A new post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit shows a video featuring a new location that will be added in the next update.

The video reveals the interior of the pyramid which is one of the most anticipated locations in the game. Since the game released the second Sumeru teaser, players started wondering if they will have access to the pyramid that was shown in the video. A number of fans in the comment section claim that they would not have minded if HoYoverse introduced the desert parts of the new region before the rainforests as they seem to be completely different from anything they've encountered so far in the world of Teyvat.

The main reason why the whole pyramid cannot be seen from the outside is apparently due to a current bug in the Version 3.1 beta phase. It's safe to say that the pyramid will probably be the main location of the new Genshin Impact 3.1 update and players expect the upcoming part of the story to revolve around this place. A couple of comments have pointed out that HoYoverse will have to make some improvements to the mini-map that is shown in the top-left part of the screen as it doesn't offer any help in the video.

The three characters that are featured in the video, Cyno, Nilou, and Candace, have all been confirmed by HoYoverse to arrive in the upcoming update. Their official announcement has led many players to accurately predict the arrival of Sumeru's first desert even before the 3.1 beta leaks arrived. This was due to the fact that the design of the three new characters is very reminiscent of Ancient Egypt's traditional clothing.

Cyno and Nilou are confirmed to have a five-star rarity which means that they will probably be placed in two separate banner cycles, but the order is still unknown. There is currently no information if they are going to be joined by additional five-star units on their Limited Character Banner. The third new character, Candace, has a lower rarity which means that she will be featured in one of the four-star lineups.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
