Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at the 2022 MTV VMAs on Sunday night, just three months after a highly-publicized defamation trial involving his ex-wife Amber Heard. During the awards show ceremony, the actor appeared in a brief cameo where his face was digitally superimposed onto the helmet of a floating Moon person.

"And you know what? I needed the work," Johnny said to the crowd at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Once the show resumed after a commercial break, he added, "Hey, VMAs, let's get back to the f--king music, shall we?...I just want you guys to know that I'm available for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, any ol' thing you need...anything, you name it. So, oh, I'm also a dentist."
A refresher: Johnny's appearance comes just a few months after a jury sided with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and found that he won a majority of his U.S. defamation cases against Amber in a verdict that totally split and took over the internet. Amber, meanwhile, won one of her three defamation countersuit claims and was awarded $2 million.

You know what's wild about Johnny Depp's appearance at the VMAs? Before this year, they have never made a point to even mention his a** in regards to ANYTHING music. This was some weird, intentional, line-in-the-sand a** stance they arbitrarily took to piss people off.
