What are the 5 items I UPGRADED before we hit the road on our DIGITAL NOMAD ADVENTURE?

One of the lessons of becoming a digital nomad has been to simplify our belongings. However, there were still a few items that we needed to buy or upgrade in order to be conducive to a full-remote lifestyle. Sharing below our top five items you should consider upgrading or buying before your next travel adventure or trip!

Akaash and I always used Sonicare and didn't want to give up having a electric toothbrush when we were on the road. However, Sonicare's are bulkier, comes with a charger, AND a large case which was too much valuable space. We were gifted a quip toothbrush this past holiday season, which is a slim electric, battery-operated toothbrush. The best part? The toothbrush has an adhesive that allows you to stick your toothbrush on a mirror and has a slim case to keep it clean. Plus, the battery and toothbrush head can get shipped to you every 3 months on demand do you don't have to carry any additional materials. If you're interested in upgrading to a quip toothbrush, use our referral link to get $5 refill credit applied!

For a long time, Akaash and I have used suitcases we bought off Amazon which typically did the trick for our overnight or extended weekend stays. Now that we carry all our belongings with us, we wanted a slightly larger carry-on bag (in hopes we will be flying more regularly soon!). Our go-to brand and model is the Ricardo hardshell "bigger" carry-on which can be found at major retailers like Macy's and Costco (similar style to the Away suitcase, but more affordable). We upgraded to a new suitcase that included compression straps, laundry bag, battery pack portal, lock, and more. Our exact model is not available on Amazon but here is a close option.

We used to carry smaller battery packs for day trips but realized how beneficial it would be to have a larger powered battery pack (still very slim) where we can also connect to our laptops to charge. This saves us from running around the airport or cafes looking for an outlet and allows us to stay charged on all our electronics. Here's the model I carry with me when traveling.

I'm a big fan of skincare so I'm guilty of having multiple lotions, facial cleansers, and face masks when we used to live at home. However, having multiple of anything doesn't lend itself very well to life on the road. One of the first things I bought was a new larger, waterproof, and portable toiletry bag off Amazon which carries just about everything I need from my beauty to skincare routine in a compact and sturdy bag.

I recently switched my socks to be wool, which is a easier material to travel with as it doesn't keep in moisture or start to smell after one wear. I'm trying to integrate wool where ever possible within clothing, but one of the first items I swapped was socks! Now, I'm able to easily carry only a few pairs of socks and wash the pair I'm not wearing in the sink (they will be dry by the next day). Smartwool has been one of the best brands to buy for wool products.

Let us know in the comments what else are items you have upgraded or have questions about before starting your nomadic adventure (or even to ease the next time you travel). Happy shopping!
