Tonight's Emmerdale opened with heartbreaking scenes, following the news that Faith's (Sally Dexter) cancer had spread to her brain.
Supported in the hospital by Chas (Lucy Pargeter), the pair listened as a doctor advised them on Faith's condition. However, there was one thing playing on Faith's mind: How long does she have left?
While the exact timeframe was never specifically revealed to viewers, Chas informed the family that she 'didn't have long left'.
Faith's decision to not continue with any treatment led to tension for her and Chas, with the heartbroken daughter ranting to the family and upsetting her mother in the process.
Luckily, Eric (Chris Chittell) was on hand to lift her spirits. Having discovered that Faith was upset at having to surrender her driving licence, due to the seizure she had suffered, Eric and Brenda hired a car for her to make the most of her time left on the road.
Despite the fact that her licence had been revoked in the hospital that morning, Eric reluctantly went along for the ride as Faith enjoyed a not-totally-legal final joyride.
As they came to a stop opposite the graveyard, Faith tried to hide her tears from Eric, before eventually revealing how she felt. As he told her that he wished he could take her prognosis away, she promised that she would 'wring everything [she] can out of this life'.
No matter how long Faith has left, she will certainly leave a lasting impression on the village and viewers alike.
