U.S. President Joe Biden has labeled former President Donald Trump's ideas as "semi-fascism" and has assured that there is currently a "death sentence" of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement.
"What we are seeing now is the beginning or the death sentence of the extreme philosophy of MAGA," explained the current US president before a Democratic audience in a Washington suburb, according to Politico.
In this sense, he said he respects "conservative Republicans" and not those who follow the MAGA philosophy. "There aren't many real Republicans anymore," he explained, adding that both Trump and his allies made the decision to walk "full of anger" and with "violence, hatred and division."
"(We Democrats) have chosen a different path: forward: forward: the future, unity, hope and optimism," Biden has explained in remarks that have opened the election campaign for the November midterm elections.
"In 2020, 81 million Americans voted to save our democracy," he said, adding that, because of this, "Donald Trump is not just a former president," but "a defeated former president," as reported by CNN.
Thus, Biden has urged Democrats, independents and Republicans to join him to "save" the country by voting for him in the November elections. "We are at a serious moment in the history of our nation," he added, according to the newspaper 'The Washington Post'.
