Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie has donated a signed and match worn FA Cup shirt from last season to a Scottish cancer charity.

It will raise money for Cahnonas Scotland, who are committed to raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer.

Bidding for the away shirt from Argyle's 2021/22 FA Cup run has already started (click HERE to enter an amount) and had reached £175 by 9am this morning. Hardie has written the message 'All the best' on it, along with his signature and squad number nine.

The Scottish striker was born in Stranraer and started his career at Rangers, and went on to play for them at first team level, as well as having loan spells at Raith Rovers (twice), St Mirren and Livingston.

Hardie made four starts and one substitute appearance for the Pilgrims as they reached the FA Cup fourth round last term.

He scored one of the goals in the 3-0 first round replay win against Sheffield Wednesday at Home Park, and Argyle then went on to beat Rochdale and Birmingham City.

That earned them a fourth round glamour tie away to then European champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at a sold-out Stamford Bridge, which included 6,000 members of the Green Army.

Hardie was a 68th minute substitute for Jordon Garrick and the tie went to extra-time after finishing 1-1.

With Chelsea leading 2-1 in the 117th minute, Argyle were awarded a penalty after Hardie raced into the Chelsea 18-yard area and was brought down by defender Malang Sarr.

Hardie took the resulting spot kick at The Shed End but it was saved by Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Chelsea went through to round five, eventually reaching the final at Wembley, loosing to L:iverpool on penalties.

The Scottish striker showed admirable character after his Stamford Bridge disappointment by completing a hat-trick in Argyle's next game, the 4-1 League One win away to Crewe Alexandra just three days later.
