When I was young, my family would go to Southern California for our summer vacations. Call it nostalgia, call it summertime vibes but Huntington Beach and Newport Beach always bring a smile to my face and the best memories! When we were talking about where to have our THM retreat and Huntington Beach was mentioned, I was happily on board. Would I return there? Here's my review of the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach.
We flew to John Wayne Airport (SNA). It is a quick Uber ride (around $30 with a tip) to the hotel. There are numerous airlines you can fly there with points and miles. We flew on United and Southwest flights to get there.
We arrived at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach and I was surprised at what a large hotel it was. Located across the street from the beach, we had a good look at the many umbrellas and sunbathers enjoying the sun. The Huntington Pier was down the street along with many restaurants and stores. Such a fun location and I was wishing that I wasn't there on a work trip!

We paid 25k in points for each room per night. The cash price is over $400/night and it is a category 6 hotel. At check-in, we were upgraded to an ocean view room (with apologies that they didn't have a suite available) due to Jess' Globalist Status. She had done a Guest of Honor Booking for our 2nd room and each room also received a $25 credit to use in the Market as well as Globalist breakfasts and late checkout. Our rooms were spacious with large bathrooms and nice balconies.

There is a big pool area, adults-only spa area, and another pool area with water slides - talk about a fun family destination! Pool, beach, water slides! They even have s'mores around the fire pits on certain nights.
The grounds were well kept and there were many sitting areas to enjoy, fountains to view, and a really nice spa area, and it all had a Southern California, surfing vibe - super fun and cute! There are bikes to rent, stores to browse in, and a great fitness center.

We ate at Pete's restaurant the night we got there. It had a cute, eclectic vibe and great fish tacos! We knew we were onto something great once we walked into Pete's.
The Watertable Restaurant is the main restaurant where we had free Globalist breakfasts each morning. Without a doubt, these were some of the finest breakfast dishes I've ever had! We could not believe the caliber of each dish and we had a really hard time deciding which were our favorites because they were all amazing!! Think Lemon Blueberry Pancakes, Strawberry Streusel French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Waffles and Chicken, Peach Bourbon Waffles, Spinach Quiche, and so much more!!! We had $30 each to spend and always went over but were never charged a cent, not even a tip! I could definitely get used to this Globalist perk!

Watertable is such a cute restaurant!
We went to Disneyland the 2nd night but, based on the quality of food we had at breakfast, I would have loved to have eaten at Watertable for dinner also. It is rare to me that an on-site restaurant has this quality of food!
Our time at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach was a quick two nights and a lot of it involved working and taking business pictures. I would love to come back again and enjoy more of the vibe that is Huntington Beach and, for sure, eat at their restaurants again!
