Bell Buckle Tennessee Travel Guide: perfect for a day trip from Nashville!

One of our favorite things to do is explore new places close to home.

Matt and I have always enjoyed it, but we especially do now with Kenny girl.

This past weekend, we took the Jeep out and decided to go for a small road trip to check out the sweet little town, Bell Buckle, Tennessee.

When we pulled up, it was like we were transported back in time to Mayberry.  And I loved it.

Matt and I watch The Andy Griffith Show every night at bedtime, so any reminder of it feels so familiar to us.

Bell Buckle is the sleepiest little town that has so much nostalgia at every turn.

Bell Buckle, Tennessee is known for the Bell Buckle Cafe, which sadly we didn't get to experience that first trip.  We've since been back for lunch and it was seriously fabulous.

I ordered the chicken pot pie with sides of fried corn, fried okra and twice baked potatoes.

Matt had the chicken breast with carrot soufflé.

Order all of those things but skip the chicken breast, nothing exciting to be had there.

I had to find out what all the hype is about, so I ordered a RC cola and chocolate Moon Pie (double decker).

And y'all, I don't get the hype.  I grew up on RC, so I'm cool there, but I've never been a big Moon Pie fan.

Regardless, I'm glad I tried it.

Another thing Bell Buckle is known for is their Moon Pie and RC Cola Festival which we unfortunately missed by only one week. ??

We popped into the Bell Buckle Coffee Shop and it was like walking right into Central Perk.  Friends fans, you need to go!

They also have a train that runs along the ceiling, which is so fun!

Right next to the parking area, there's a parked train car for kids to climb up and explore.  Kenny thought it was just about the coolest thing ever.

The downtown Bell Buckle area is chock-full of cute little boutiques, antique stores, the cutest little coffee shop and more.  If you're a shopper and love finding fun new treasures, then you'll love these adorable shops.

Of course I have to share my outfit from our little excursion.

This cutie romper was a solid Amazon find for under $30.  I'm wearing the size 0-2 and it runs a little bigger than expected.

On our way to Bell Buckle, we stumbled across the cutest spot, Nash Family Creamery, in Chapel Hill.

We stopped in and had lunch and it was seriously fabulous.

Matt and I ordered the cheddar, bacon and peach preserves grilled cheese sandwich and y'all.  You need this sandwich in your life.

Oh, and their baked potato salad was so stinking good too.

We loved the Creamery so much that we stopped in for a sweet treat on the way home and I snagged these photos.
