Wizards of the Coast has announced that the next Dungeons & Dragons anthology is Keys From The Golden Vault, which has been described as D&D meets Ocean's Eleven. The most recent adventure anthology was D&D's Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel, which sent players to locations all over the multiverse, with civilizations based on real-world cultures, and which proved to be incredibly popular among fans.

The Dungeons & Dragons adventure anthology books consist of one-shot adventures that can be run on their own or inserted into existing campaigns. These books often have adventures that are spread across different levels, and they can technically be run as a loose campaign, with the players going through them one by one. The adventure anthologies are also ideal for convention games, where a group will only ever play together once, or as a D&D module for beginners.

The D&D adventure anthologies have proven popular with fans, which is why another one is on the way next year. Wizards of the Coast revealed several new D&D and Magic: The Gathering products that are launching in 2023 during Wizards Presents showcase on August 18. Screen Rant took part in a private press event held before the Wizards Presents event, where several D&D books that are planned for next year were revealed. This new adventure anthology is called Keys From The Golden Vault and is launching in winter 2023.

Dungeons & Dragons Senior Story Designer Chris Perkins described Keys From The Golden Vault as Ocean's 11 meets Dungeons & Dragons, and it will consist of short adventures that each involve a heist. Currently, the number of adventures, their level spread, or even which D&D campaign setting they use is unknown. There were only a few hints given about the content in Keys From The Golden Vault, as the intention was to give fans a teaser of what's to come next year, with more detailed information being revealed in the coming months.

A heist involves a very specific kind of plot and it will be interesting to see how several smaller ones work as one-shot adventures. The fact that most schemes made by D&D parties usually collapse within five seconds and everyone resorts to throwing fireballs means that not all of the heists are destined to go as planned, but that's part of the fun of the game. Keys From The Golden isn't the first D&D campaign centered around a heist, as this concept was also seen in 2018's Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, but there will be an entire Dungeons & Dragons book dedicated to the concept in 2023.
